Hi
I have MSDE2000A but can't install it.
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=322336 didn't help me
When I write "osql -U sa" in Command Prompt it respond "Password:" and
always says:
"Client unable to establish connection
Shared Memory Provider: The specified module could not be found.
Timeout expired"

Bootstrap Web Admin
Hi there, ive managed to bootstrap .net and msde quite easily to some of my
applications but I also use Web Admin quite alot for checking the data and so
on. Is there a way to bootstrap this too??

Confused
I have VB. NET
I want to build SQL databases on my own PC using VB and
MSDE.
No matter how many ways I install it or passwords I use,
I just cannot get read/write access from witihn VB. I
have upsized the Northwind.mdb.
There seems to be a multidude or service packs for MSDE
and numerous ways of ent ...

Trusted SQL connections
Having just installed my SQL Server Desktop Engine, I
have upsized the Northwind.mdb database onto my
local 'server'.
However, when I connect to it through VB.Net, I only seem
to have read only access to it. Ie. I am unable to create
new views etc.
What am I doing wrong?

MSDE Reboot Question (2 parts)
1) When I install and MSDE instance for the first time on a machine,
the install states that I must reboot the machine. However if I
manually start the instance, then my programs can access that instance
without a reboot.

SQL Server and MSDE
I need someone to clear up a few questions I have about MSDE. I have SQL
Server 2000 installed on my machine. Does this mean I also have MSDE
installed or is this a separate installation?
Can you install MSDE on a sever to be accessed by 5 users running a WinForm
application from their machines?

Verifying and changing the MSDE System Administrator Password

MSDE icon not in systray
Hi,
I've just reinstalled MSDE release A on my machine. When I boot up the icon
in the systray is not there but it shows that it is running in task manager
does anyone know why tis is happening at what I can do to have the icon back
in the systray??
